I feel lucky and grateful that I was born and raised on the island of Tierra del Fuego. Growing up, my parents always encouraged me to engage in outdoor activities and enjoy nature. At an early age, I learned that everything you need can be carried in a backpack. This motivated me to spend time in nature for extended periods, continually learning how to do it more safely, comfortably and with ever increasing enjoyment. I have always been passionate about sports, including cross-country skiing, mountain biking, and, from the age of 11, snowboarding, which I went on to practice professionally for many years. Fly fishing also captured my interest naturally during the summer months, and over time, my love for fishing grew exponentially.

Living in the sea trout capital of the planet, I soon discovered that I could do what I love and get paid for it. I have dedicated the past 15 years of my life to becoming an expert in the art of sea trout hunting, guiding in the best lodges, constantly refining my techniques, and sharing my knowledge with my customers on how to effectively cast and approach this elusive fish.

Over the years, I’ve come to understand the responsibility and the importance of preserving the environments where we live, work, and play. We all know that nature is suffering because of our decisions; of that “normal” way of living that we have developed, but which only take us further and further away from where we came from, namely nature.

For many years, I have actively participated in conservation efforts, collaborating with local organizations and the Tompkin’s Foundation to safeguard crucial ecosystems on the island. I was also proactive in banning salmon farming in Argentina, to protect our shores from potential harm. We said no to salmon farming and now we have a law against it, which is a proud achievement for us all.

Today, I’m the manager of World’s end Lodge on the Irigoyen River, a Patagonia Ambassador, and a certified mountain guide. However, what truly matters to me is the privilege of continuing to live where I grew up and engage in same the activities that have shaped my life. As a father now, I am even more cognizant of the need to preserve nature for future generations so they will have the same opportunities we did.

Joining the Salmologic Ambassador team feels like a natural progression, as their brand philosophy truly aligns with all the things I strive for. I take immense pride in representing a brand that shares my values, providing the finest fly fishing products for pursuing our beloved sea trout.
